Meeting House of Riņģu Brother’s Congregations

Previously movement of Herrnhuter Brother’s congregations were active and widely distributed, resulting in the development of the Riņģu Meeting House on the second half of 19th century. This meetinghouse is one of the still remaining meetinghouses of the Brother’s Congregation. Also, a place where spiritual and cultural events took place. Here supporters of the Herrnhuter movement are gathering again currently. The bulky wooden house surrounded by magnificent trees are well visible in the scenery. Due to the support and care of locals, in 2000 Riņģu Meeting House received the European Cultural Heritage Flag for the orderly countryside scenery. Riņģu large oak is located next to the meetinghouse. In Latvia, this tree is included in the Top 10 of largest oaks, its perimeter is 8.6m but currently only the wreck of the trunk is left from the tree.
